I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day with their loved one!
My boyfriend picked me up for dinner after he got off work. He surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of roses=) I know roses are such a waste of money, but c'mon, who doesn't like receiving roses? Especially on Valentine's Day.
The traffic on our way downtown was terrible, i think it was because it was Valentine's Day because there weren't any accidents that we could see. It took us nearly an hour to get to the restaurant.
He took me to a nice little restaurant called
Lucien, it is supposedly a very popular restaurant in Toronto. Their menu is small, but very specialized. They are most popular for their slow cooked pork tongue. I know, sounds gross right? But seriously, if you don't know what it is, the taste is quite interesting.

some bread for starters |
|
Oishi Men Ramen Soup |
|
Slow cooked pork tongue |
|
My black Angus ribeye and bone marrow |
|
his "choucroute garni" (uhh basically pork sausage and pork terrines) |
There were a lot of couples at the restaurant. One thing i don't like about these type of restaurants is that you never really get a private table, all their tables are put so closely together, it get's a bit awkward with your neighbors. As in you can't really speak loudly, and the starring when they hear something or see something or when we're eating.
After dinner, we drove back uptown and just sat at the closest McDonald's for some ice cream sundaes to end the night. It's the simple things that really matter and the most joyful. There was a couple in front of us that kept starring as we exchanged gifts and there was a boy holding a bouquet of roses by the door waiting for his girlfriend. It was so sweet. It's really nice to have some time to relax and just enjoy the company of your loved one. I wish we both weren't so busy to have more of these simple days.

Sorry, my face still looks sickly |
Aww, Happy Valentine's Day!! It looked like you and your boyfriend had a good night together. Those flowers are beautiful, especially the white color he picked out.
ReplyDeleteAww so glad to see you had a great vday sandy and I have to agree that flowers eventually die but who doesn't like them especially when they are roses.
ReplyDeleteYou and the bf look great together! And your dinner sounded interesting, kudos to you cause I don't have the guts to try pork tounge.
Heh I love how you ended with dessert at mcdonalds, I like getting ice cream there.
Awww..that's so sweet! :) lovely flowers by the way! :)
ReplyDeleteBelated happy valentines to you! :)
What a gorgeous bouquet of flower he got you!!! ^^
ReplyDeletewhite rose such a pretty and food looks delicious
ReplyDeleteHey Sandy!!!! Awwwww That is super duper sweet of your bf to get you such nice flowers and take you out to dinner, hahaha did you manage to eat a lot? I know what you mean about the lack of privacy in "higher scale" restaurants, they try to squeeze in to many tables! sometimes I can't even get to my table without intruding on the next tables personal space! For valentines day my bf and I didn't do much, we just shopped around and went to dinner at night =) Hope you're recovering well! I remember my own wisdom teeth extractions! ><
ReplyDeleteI love the simple things. Even the most expensive restaurant can't buy you leisure or give you the best chance to make the most memorable moments happen.
ReplyDeleteThat's bouquet is GIGANTIC, but beatuiful. Did you carry that around? Was it awkward? I hope these aren't rude questions haha, I'm honestly curious =)
omgosh that bouquet is SOOO BIG & SOO GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteyou look so pretty hon.. you do not looks sickly i have no idea what you are yammering about.. i love the pic of you leaning into your bf you guys are so cute!!

You should have kept a VCR behind! We did so that we can still enjoy our Disney movies from time to time haha. I have the Gameboy Color too! We used to play Pokemon on it- which was pretty much the only game we had for it haha.
ReplyDeleteAww... such a sweet BF. The flowers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSandy!! How are you feeling nowadays? Has the pain subsided? And how's the move going? LOL so many questions, update me girl!
ReplyDeleteHey Sandy! Have you fully recovered from your teeth extraction? I hope so and that you can eat solid food successfully now~ haha
ReplyDeleteThough Valentine's day was long gone already, it was really sweet ur bf got you awesome roses :)! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are so beautiful, you're lucky to have such a wonderful bf :)
ReplyDeleteThose white roses look gorgeous! I've never seen any of them in person.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers! Looks like you had a good vday!
ReplyDeleteHere I am again! LOL Omg I also remembering being able to feel the stitches too and truth be told I kept touching them thought I knew I shouldn't have haha
ReplyDeleteIt's quite sad how dependent we are on the internet isn't it? One week without the net for me is like torture haha! I hope that your move goes all well and that you get your internet back soon! Thanks for letting me know about that Miffy character. I thought it might've been from something.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers! :) I'm not a big flower person but it is nice when someone puts in the thought to give them to you! :) Glad you had a nice celebration! You're right... i'm not a fan of restaurants that have the tables so close together! It makes me conscious to talk about things other than surface topics. haha!
ReplyDeleteSandy! Where have you been girl?? Really miss you =) I don't think I've ever told you, but before we got to know each other, my most favourite post of yours (and even to this day) was your 2011 Resolutions post.
ReplyDeleteIt was comforting to find someone who was also self-aware and reflects back on their life. I started my blog doing that a bit but then it got really strange and weird when I thought about how many more people were reading as the popularity of my blog went on. I hope to return back to how it used to feel. And I hope to see you return back with another post too! ^^
aww adorable!
ReplyDeletemm looks so delicous
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and article
wanna follow each others?
