The Ex!

It's becoming a yearly thing now that we go to the CNE once every summer. A lot has changed since i went as a child of course. More rides, more attractions, and everything else that reminds me i'm getting older.
We decided not to get a fun pass (which let's you go on rides), in which we regretted soon after. Some of the rides looked really fun, even for us "big kids", and i really don't mind going on the marry go round again. For sure next year we'll get a fun pass, my bf was just worried that he won't fit in most of the rides with his slightly long legs.

Carnival food. Didn't try much of it since they are mostly heart attacks waiting to happen, but i was very curious about some of them. Like the krispy creme burger, buffalo wing waffles or even deep fried mars bar, brownie, koolaid. I did however tried a pizza cone, and it was awesome!

New this year is the sky ride that takes you to the front entrance to the casino. Has a nice view of CNE

Christmas Season

Happy Belated New Years Everyone!!!!

Late post! This is going to be a long one haha. December has always been the busiest month for me!
There's Christmas parties, secret Santa events, Christmas day, boxing day, my birthday, new years eve and BOOM New Years Day. Where has all the time gone!?

This December, we had a family reunion (well partly, so hard to get everyone together). At the same time, we celebrated my dearest grandmother's birthday at Mandarin buffet. She loves food, and she can out eat anyone! Love her to death, she is SO cute!

The bf and i had also went to this Christmas market at the Distillery District. There was a lot of beer! A lot of  Christmas decorations, a giant tree, booths, and sales indoors. It was overall really festive. Unfortunately it was really cold that night so every few minutes we had to hide inside to keep warm. We didn't stay very long.

My long time friend and her sweetheart recently got engaged and they bought a house together. We had her house warming Christmas party there and we played secret santa as well. I love doing secret santa with them, because we play the Santa steal version, makes it so much exciting!

Come Christmas Day, the bf came over early in the morning to get me out of bed to open presents from under the Christmas Tree. I felt like a kid again, always so happy on that day!
I didn't take pictures of all the gifts i received, but i got some from managers, co-workers, friends and everyone was so thoughtful. I'm really thankful to have known these wonderful people.

The bf got me an iMac! omg i died!
This was very unexpected, and such a wonderful Christmas it is! Best present i can ever receive! Thanks hunnie! He had always been complaining about the PC I've been using, saying how it's slow, noisy and a piece of junk. And me being the non techno nerd, knows nothing about computers...i would never think about buying a new computer myself because well...where do i even start? What am i supposed to look for?

I always wanted an iMac! It's a whole new world to learn but i love playing with photoshop and this will be PERFECT!

We spent Christmas Day together at my place just enjoying each other's company. We made rice crispy squares together, made home made lasagna and watched movies. I wish holidays lasted longer :(

Boxing day was a huge dissapointment for me. I went to a big mall with my friend and we shopped for nearly the entire day but there wasn't a lot of good deals going on, just lots and lots of people. All i got were a pair of wedges and a bag full of anti bacterial hand soap from bath and body (50% OFF). Dissapointed!

I'll update you guys on my Birthday next =)

Happy belated New Years once again. Chinese New Years is coming up soon, how many of you celebrate? I know for my family Chinese New Years is much bigger for them than Jan 1st New Years.

I'm not going to bother making much New Years resolutions this year since i never follow through. But from the top of my head i will list 10

1. Take my vitamin D and vitamin C pill everyday!!!
2. Drink more water!!!
3. Less online shopping (less shopping in general, and only buy pieces that will last me a long time)
4. Eat healthier
5. Eat less candy
6. Apply for new jobs
7. Spend more time on blogging
7. Take more pictures
8. Speak my mind
9. Do not compare your life to other people's (this one is hard)
10. Follow your heart

Taiwan Festival and FOTD

The past weekend, the boyfriend and i went to the Taiwan Festival that was hosted by Telus downtown at the Harbourfront Centre. It was...small...quite disappointing. I thought it was going to be like the Asian night markets with tons of booths filled with yummy food. But no...there were only 4 booths that sold food.
We went on the first day, and i don't know it the people were unprepared but we lined up for nearly an hour with the line barley moving for a bowl of soup (that wasn't so great) and a Taiwanese Oyster pancake (better than the soup).

Aside from food there was also some dancing and vendors selling random things. Harbourfront is always a nice place to go to relax, it has a great view of Toronto and we get to see the calmer side of things.

what are they doing?
jelly beans!

Anyways, i haven't put on makeup for a long time, and i decided to play with it again. How do you like it?

Haulage for the face

I am so bad with updating on blogger lately! Ends up i put multiple random topics on each post. I'll try to stop my bad habit next time hahaha.

My Package from Paula's Choice has arrived!!! After reading reviews from a fellow blogger, i just had to try these out! As you all know, i'm always on a lookout for different face products, as i don't exactly have a face routine that works for me and that i can stick to so i'm always trying new things.

http://www.paulaschoice.com/

I purchased the CLEAR set in regular strength that contains a lightweight non foaming cleanser, a toner that contains 2% salicylic acid and the third step is the acne fighting treatment that contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. It does not come with a moisturizer which you are supposed to use after the third step, and i didn't know which one to buy so i purchased Serums instead.
I got one call "Skin recovery super antioxidant concentrate serum" and i loveeeee this stuff.  It comes out like oil form and once you spread it across your face, there is this warming feeling and it absorbs really fast.
I also got a serum from the RESIST line called "super antioxidant serum". You are supposed to use this only at night and i've only used it twice so i can't do a proper review on it yet.
Lastly, i bought the "Clearly Remarkable Skin Lightening Gel" also from the RESIST line. It says it helps lighten brown spots and acne scars so i wanted to try it. I have not used this once yet, mainly because they said it's not good to use it after the CLEAR 3 step face routine thing because the gel has 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid and it's not good to mix that with salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide because your skin will have a temporary brown stain and it may result in dry and irritated skin. And since i want to keep using the CLEAR line consistently for some results, i have no idea when i should start using the lightening gel since that also you can only see results if used consistently.

I have been using the CLEAR line for about a week now, and my skin has become really really dry and tight :( I really wanted this to work for me so i'm going to give it another week. I use the 3 steps, and then i apply the serum, and after that i apply one of my own face moisturizers. My skin is so dry, it's starting to peel at the corner of my nose and the corner of my lips. I don't know what i'm doing wrong, i ope it works for me.

So with every purchase, you can pick 3 samples.

I picked the hydralight moisture infusing lotion, barrier repair moisturizer and moisture boost hydrating treatment cream. Haven't tried these yet though.

Also they included a pack of blotting papers for me =) So sweet!

My girlfriend has also came back from her Eurotrip, and we had dinner together and talked for a while. I miss being able to talk about anything and everything with someone and not even realizing that time had flown by. The sweetheart picked me up some souvieners from Venice. Thanks Cindy!

She got me this cute fridge magnet shape as a postal stamp and a snow globe. I love snow globes!!!! Seriously i can stare at them all day.

Last random thing of the day. I went to The Taste of Lawrence with the bf during the weekend and we got this super awesome yummy pineapple drink. They take out the insides, blends it, and then pour it back into the pineapple and you drink it just like that! So yummy. I didn't take a picture of the food we ate because we devoured it too quickly, but i did remember tot take a picture of this =)

If i don't update in the following 2 weeks, i am sorry! I am going on a CRUISE!!!!!!! I'm leaving Saturday morning and coming back the next Saturday! Super excited. Will bring back many pictures =)
